What a week!

Wow it's been a crazy week! It has been snowing like crazy with temperatures well below freezing with over a foot of snow on the ground. We had a good Thanksgiving, Jeremy's sister and her boyfriend came over as well as Jeremy's cousin and his kids. Jeremy's parents were supposed to join us but with this crazy weather they were not able to make it. I spent all day cooking and I have to say the turkey turned out perfect! The mashed potatoes on the other hand tasted good but were a little lumpy because the mixer started smoking on me, so I was unable to finish mixing them :( It was a lot of work getting everything ready by myself with a 1 year old running around but everything worked out and dinner was a success :)

Yesterday we had to make a trip to the ER for Ava, She had a temperature of 104.2 and was not eating or drinking so the nurse told us to come in. They took some blood and gave her an IV, she purked right up after she got the IV too. She just has a viral infection which we are very thankful for and that it's not anything worse. Once we left the ER her temp. went down to 99.6, phew! She did wake up this morning with another temp. of 104.6 and throughout the day has been running a temp but it finally came down to 101.4 and has been staying there for most of the evening. Hopefully tonight we can all get a good nights sleep and wake up in the morning with no temp. and not so tired parents!

Here are some pictures of Ava with the IV in her arm. I think the IV was harder on mom than it was for Ava. She is such a strong little girl!

And to leave on a happier note, here is Ava in the bath...she loves her baths!

Halloween Fun 2010!

Our little witch, we love you Ava

Ava's first Halloween was a lot of fun, we started the Halloween fun at her best friends 1st birthday. It was a lot of fun, it was also a Halloween party so Ava dressed up as a witch, I dressed up as a witch also and Jeremy dressed up as a sorcerer. Sorry guys we didn’t take any pictures of the three of us. Sunday morning we got up and got Ava all dressed up in her witch costume and we went to Jeremy’s work where she went trick or treating at the different departments in Fred Meyer. Ava had such a blast, it was like she had been doing it for years. She grabbed a piece of candy out of the bowl, put it in her bag and went back for more. We were working all day on trying to get her to say “trick or treat” and eventually she said “treat” but when it came time to say it she wouldn’t, but she did say please so that’s okay.

While Ava was taking a nap Jeremy and I carved pumpkins, I forgot how much fun it was. Jeremy carved a Jack-O-Lantern and I carved a ghost, BOOOO!

Jeremy's pumpkin, We can tell who the artistic one in the family is.

My pumpkin, Sorry the pictures arn't very good.

Sunday evening after nap time we went Trick or Treating to a couple of our neighbors houses. We had to first stop by our neighbor Liz’s house where she had a special sack of candy just for Ava. Ava did so good she would walk up to the house and knock, with help from us of course, and when they would open the door she would say "please" and grab the candy out of the bowl, and of course she had to go back for more.

Sitting with mom and dads pumpkins before we head out trick or treating.

On our way to the first house she is so excited to be carrying her basket.

We only went to 5 houses but Ava made out like a bandit :)

Ava enjoying her hard earned work!

What a fun weekend, I'm looking forward to all the holidays coming up Ava is going to love it!

~Horsing Around~

This weekend Ava and I have been hanging out at my parents house while Jeremy went hunting with his dad. Ava loves hanging out with her Gramma! Paxton was hanging out with us too, so we took the kids out to my dads horses. This was the first time Ava had seen a horse and she absolutely loved them. She even was able to get on one and ride it around with Paxton. She had such a fun time and was all smiles on the horse.

Ava asking me "whas tat"

She was not afraid of them, she just walked right up to the fence.

On the horse for the first time, and she loved it!

She loved being on the horse, she had such a great time!

::Picture Overload::

Whats going on in the Vasquez household you may ask, well not a whole lot! We got our side yard done, excavated and seeded, we will wait a couple of weeks and fence it in. Other than the yard not a whole lot is going on around here. So let me tell you about Ava, she is such a fun girl, I can just sit and watch her play and explore all day! She has such a little personality and she is growing in to it more and more everyday. She also has her own little language which is a cross between chinese and giberish. Her favorite words are "hey dad" or "hi dad" She also says "that", "thank you" and "here", and of course "hi" and "bye". Its just a small vocabulary right now but it is growing day by day.

Ava turned 14 months old this month, she is growing up way too fast. Some of her favorite things are dancing and singing to music, and talking on the phone. While playing outside all she wants to do is walk up and down the sidewalk, she will stop and pick up a pincone or a rock and explore it for a little bit and then keep walking its so cute. I love living in such a great neighborhood where I feel safe walking with Ava.

I will leave you guys with a few, okay a lot of photos of Ava and our adventures.

Leaving to go to the Spokane County Fair.

Ava with her friend Skyler at the fair, We had so much fun.

Ava fell outside and got her first bandaid...

She did not like it at all.

Coupon Savings!!!

As some of you know I have started coupon shopping. I'm still a little new to the whole thing and am still learning, like which store uses which coupons and how many coupons you can use and which coupon can be matched with another. It gets exhuasting just thinking about it! I have spent many hours on the internet exploring different sites and reading all their informative info. I finally think I have gotten a hang of it, for the most part. I just wanted to share with you some of my great shops :)

I got all this for less than 17 dollars...I thought I would stock up for when I start my daycare. I know Crayola is a little more expensive but they hold up better and are easier to clean off surfaces!

This was my first Rite Aid Shop. I think I did pretty good my total out of pocket was just around 4 dollars plus I got back 6 dollars back in Up Rewards for my next purchase. Its like they paid me 2 dollars to take it :) I have to mention that the buttpaste originally sells for 10.99 at Rite Aid.

My second Rite Aid trip for the week, I spent a total out of pocket 12.37 after tax, plus I got back 9 dollars back in Up rewards:) My face lotion and 1 hair-die alone is more than 12 dollars, So its like I paid for lotion and hair die and they said "hey take this other stuff for free and we will give you 9 more dollars for next time" =) Free stuff Heck Yea!!!

This was my Albertsons trip, I had to do it in 4 different transactions but was able to get everything for 5.50. I got 5 things of hotdogs 5 things of Kraft Cheese, 5 things of Cool Whip and 5 different things of Quaker products. If you don't believe me than just check out my reciepts below!

Thats right everything for 5.50, it would of been less but one of my oatmeals was a different price than I thought it would be. This was over $67 in savings!

This is my latest trip to Rite Aid I was able to pick everything up for 1.46 with tax!!! Not only did I only pay $1.46 but I got back $7 dollars in Up Rewards...I think I might be making another trip this week!

I have saved a lot of money couponing and have all ready started a stock pile. With me not working this is a great money saver :)

A week of fun!

Its been awhile since I posted so I thought I would post a couple of pictures from the last week.

Playing with her puzzle, the monkey is her favorite!

Our little fish, she will be swimming before we know it.

We went to Pig Out in the Park today, at River Front Park, it was a lot of fun...I took Ava for a ride on the carousel. She looks all smiles here but once it started she wanted nothing to do with it and was crying the whole time until it stopped.

Cuddles with daddy in the morning.

On Friday my mom and sister and Paxton came and visited for the day :) After lunch and a much needed pedi we took the kids to the park by our house, they had a lot of fun!

Playing in the splash pad with gramma!

After Pax was done playing in the water it was toy time!

Ava is no longer our baby she is such a big girl :(

I will leave you with a video of Ava's new dance moves and if you listen closely you can hear her sing. We always know when she wants to listen to music because she will take the remote and point it at the stereo.

Ava's first birthday!

As most of you know Ava's birthday was last Sunday, and surprisingly I keep it together. I thought i was going to be a lot more emotional. Jeremy had to work that evening so he could have this weekend off for the big celebration, so after lunch we sang happy birthday to Ava and gave her a cupcake and she loved it. Yup, I think Ava is going to take after her dad and be a sweets lover.

singing to Ava, She not quite sure what to think.

First taste

Wow, this stuff is sweet!

I think I like it!

Mmmmmmmmm
